pavilion decoration

Has anyone painted a pavilion made of sunforger canvas?
I was told the paint doesn't dry but stays tacky.
However, I did some test brushfulls of straight acrylic, housepaint, and spray paint and the little bitty test areas appear to be drying OK.
I am a very cautious person about stuff like this though and I would like to hear of the painting experience of others.

My original plan was to hang sewn bands, but the test run looked Krappy. I prefer painting to sewing so I hope to be able to do that and am excited about the possibility.

I did some experiments on sunforger with acrylic, and also with heat set fabric paints. Neither really set to the fabric, and washed off almost completely with water. (Which would be rather a problem if it rains)

Thanks for the heads-up. Right now I am having a difficult time holding myself back from painting it and possibly ruining it. I actually have drawn on it with charcoal in anticipation of painting.
