Here are another few things. Of course the kiln held considerably more than I photographed, but I thought these might be of interest.

This was glazed by a local SCA lady. I thought it was interesting because she applied the glaze as if she was painting with watercolor and I think it was quite successful.

I'm giving this mug to [livejournal.com profile] dancing_guru. I like it, but hang my head in shame because it is glazed with a commercial glaze that is named "celadon". It was not high-fired in a reduction kiln with Iron Oxide as the colorant, so if one is a stickler for the authentic, which I wish I was, it's not a traditional celadon. But, did I say I like it anyway? I think I found a way to almost exactly duplicate the glaze color and texture mixing my own glaze, which will be a big moneysaver.

I re-fired this bowl because I wasn't satisfied with the first application of overglaze. This second firing gave it a good texture so I am pleased with it now. [livejournal.com profile] slysidonia if you are still interested please let me know.

I'll work on some bowls this weekend, so I can have a stack for people to play with. And some for me, too. And some for largess.
This is going to be such fun!

Another thought.
The bowls were thrown from b-mix, so the background was very white. If your clay body is off-white, buff, or speckled it will be a different look.

I have a white body I throw with - Vashon white. But I'll also do some in the red clay, just to see what happens...
