Behind the cut are bowls folks made for the Empty Bowl Donation that will take place this weekend. Really nice work.
People in attendance will be soooo lucky to get these lovely bowls at a bargain price AND donate to a good cause.
Thanks again to the generous bowl painters.
(If I forgot one please tell me)

I particularly like this bowl made by [livejournal.com profile] freewaydiva

this is another bowl by Turi

I don't remember who is the artist of this bowl, no maker's mark. But what a great expression of Spring!

After firing, the color values were very similar in this bowl, but it will still be a lovely way to serve soup.

[livejournal.com profile] daedin's bowl turned out very well. Great glaze application.

Photographing the glaze colors of this bowl was a little difficult, I tried a couple of times, but still have heavy shadows.

This bowl is mine, modeled on a Persian design.

This Phoenix is also mine, inspired by a Turkish manuscript.

Okay, we really need to do this at our booth at JF. Can you bring the supplies, and I'll make sure we have some bowls?

The photos also don't show how much FUN we had.

I can bring plenty of underglazes & brushes. We may have some logistics to solve, such as transportation of glazed pots. By June Fair I will try to make test tiles of the underglazes so the artists can see what the colors look like after firing.

At the get-together we did a few tiles on commercial bisque too, I just haven't fired to 06 yet, hopefully in a week or so. They would be easier to transport, but if people are interested in donating their work to Empty Bowls we'll need the bowls.

This looks like a great class for Iron and Ink if you would be willing to do it. Fired Bowl could be available at July Coronation?

Are you planning on a pit firing at teh Retreat as well this year?

The "unknown" was [livejournal.com profile] giselared's bowl. I'm disappointed that the colors on my third one were so similar. Next time I'll remember higher contrast. That first one turned out FANTASTIC though. I think I might want to do that one again, but for meeeee!

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] daedin's is stunning, of course. *looks at her, pointedly*

It will help a lot if I make test tiles of what they look like after having been fired. I also did one bowl that, although I thought the design itself was strong, the glaze colors turned out so similar in value the results were quite disappointing.

Good plan. :) Because that was some HUGE FUN! I'd like to do it again.

As [livejournal.com profile] gwen_the_potter mentions, June Fair is a possibility. Plus I am thinking of anoying all with another visitation this summer.
