morgaina: (welcome to Idaho)

No improvement here.
I got hold of Snow Plow Guy who said I was low on his list of priorities. Well, not exactly in those words, but he has a lot of places to plow before mine and today looks unlikely too. He says town (Moscow) is a mess. I wouldn't know being unable to see it and judge for myself.

I walked to the mailbox yesterday and it was one of the worst hikes I have ever taken. Deep, deep, snow and wind blowing in my face all the way. But again with the priorities, there was the fact that I had to mail my Netflicks. ;-)

I have enough heat for 12 more days assuming the electricity doesn't go out. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

wow, you're still getting mail? you should leave something nice in your mailbox for your postman, it sounds like! (is it legal to leave a thermos of hot chocolate, or a plate of cookies?)

as romantic as it sounds to be snowed in, I bet it really sucks :(. I at least can hike the mile to the grocery store if I have to

That is a sweet idea :-) I think I'll do it!

Yes, it does suck. If I could relax and enjoy it rather than trying to shovel my way out and fretting it could be pleasant.
But the type A personality thing. *sigh*

It's working, the snow stopped, so keep sending that warmth.

wow, you're still getting mail! You need a mail truck in which to travel, obviously. :) Sorry you are having such sucky weather. Maybe you should call the gas or oil or whatever heating people and make an appointment now to have them come give you a refill in case of more storms in the near future?

Then start buying those lottery tickets...

I haven't been to the mailbox today, so I don't know.
My mailbox is on the highway which is 1/8 of a mile away from my house through the deep snow, which I have to trudge through, and trudging is not an exaggeration. There are still a few trucks on the highway. The mail delivery and pick-up are less of a problem than me actually *getting* to my mailbox.
I use wood pellets for heat, so I have to drive to the hardware store to pick them up, I also have a small wood stove, but my wood is under many layers of snow, so I was buying presto-logs, but again, I have to drive to town to buy them.

Does your mailman have some big stomper truck to deliver the mail?

Ok, everybody over 50 (or past menopause) start singing, "We're having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave..." and thinking of copper_oxide!

Do you have x-country (or whatever) skis? Could you ski to the mailbox?
(It was an idea someone came up with on a fiber list I'm on.)
