Some Work

I made some award medallions out of colored porcelain. They are currently waiting to be fired along with another kiln load. I plan to fire Thursday night which means staying up all night with the kiln. Argh, I'm getting too old (read lazy) for that.
I'm pleased with how the shapes came out, but not the size.
Right now they are large, the firing will shrink them a little more, but they are still a bit large. Working with porcelain with details that tiny is something in which I could use more practice.
The feral cat came in to the studio with me while I was working. He would really like to be friends, it's not going to happen for awhile though because of naughty, hyperactive dog.

How much work to you do in porcelain? I know I should know, but... I don't. Forgive me being obtuse. I am looking at my "Shelf of Fame" (your work) and I don't see much that I would think was porcelain. That may be just me being not very well-versed... I see what I would call "white pottery", but is that porcelain? Sorry to be such a noob. Input please...oh Knower of Things Ceramic.

Chuckle, I wouldn't presume to consider myself knower of all things ceramic, but thanks. Maybe when I'm over 80. (yeah, right)
I don't work with porcelain very much. The white clay is a porcelainous-stoneware. Much of my work isn't fired hot enough for a true porcelain look.
Hummmm porcelain, yummmm. I keep thinking I need a Chinese persona, not a Mongol or Hun because porcelain potters couldn't have traveled they had to stay next to their dragon kilns.
