Quitting Christmas cold turkey

A non-Christmas this year.
None of the kids were able to come home for Christmas. My sister's son is not doing well, so she went to his house to spend time with him. No decorations, trees, fancy meals, or presents.
Then my son called from China (still a bad connection) and said they weren't coming home next year either. It will probably be several years before I get to see Wee Beatrice again. She won't be a baby when I see her next time, whenever that is going to be.
My plans for the days surrounding Christmas is some pottery, some sewing, and some drawing. That all sounds good.
It's very cold outside so the snow that melted several days earlier makes a very icy walk to my studio. I may chip at the ice some, but it's a lot of ice between the house and the studio.
I bought a cord of wood, so I'm able to thaw the studio pretty well, and it's a lovely heat.

Hugs. We are not having Christmas either, and I still don't know how I feel about it. Wish we were closer and I could risk annoying my leg by jumping in the car to see you.

I posted my proposed ceremonial to the FB planning group and sent it to TRM & Co. I wrote in the last line of a documented ceremony in Latin for His Majesty.
