Back from the first day of the fair there was rain interspersed with downpour, break in the clouds, & hail, then repeat. I am a little chilled. Interestingly sales were OK considering the small crowds.
Here are some more pics from the last firing:

My first try at a "Berry Bowl" it holds a good pint.

This one is slightly smaller and the saucer is not attached. I might like this style better from a functional viewpoint.

Bowl is larger than it looks, about 3 qt capacity.

Also larger than it looks but not as large as the purple bowl above. I really liked how the glazes ran and blended on this one.

The other design style done with maiolica glazes.

An hors d oeuvres platter....hey who ate the stuff off the plate?:

I REALLLY like (read LOVE!) the second from the top!
I like the wavy nature of your clay handling. That appeals.

Thanks, I've been wanting to try some different things with bowls. Even the simple waving on a small bowl was a big step for me.

Well, you did it nicely, simply, adn that is good. Good experimenting! May you find fruitful directions.

I love the fruit cups, too. I really need to do more with underglazing, but I can never think of what to paint! I have the same problem with drawing.

Thanks :-)
I like the cave art as a subject right now. But I am also trying to think of other things for underglazes or maiolica. I also need to work on color application, not too thick, not too thin. I hope we can all get together with [livejournal.com profile] slysidonia sometime this summer, as was mentioned, and work on techniques together.

I really liked both the cave paintings and the fruit paintings. You do both very well.

Thanks. I am learning, much more to learn though. But even starting out is fun!

Thank you. Bowls are such an excellent shape to have fun with glazes.
