Some of the pottery I've been working on recently. I will try to get photos of my collage too, but it probably needs re-framed. The show the collage is in has an opening tomorrow. The theme for the show is "The Road Less Traveled". Yeah....I suppose I have some life experience in that. ;-)




Experimenting with maiolica, mucho practice still required. About 4" tall.

There was some red maiolica glaze in late period, but they say it tended towards coral, thus...
This is going to be a prize for one of Lyonsmarche's Championships or something.

Pit fired cooking pot. The iridescence is a result of the sawdust used. Usually I get wood shavings from a woodworking artist, but this time I used sawdust from a cabinet shop. His sawdust is much finer mesh and chock full of the chemicals in composite wood.


This pipkin is made of the wonderful, fabulous micacous clay. It's low fired and the mica sparkles gold and purportedly better stands thermal shock. You may have to click to make big to see the sparkles. So way cool!!!
