Graduation and Thesis Show Road Trip: Was so wonderful. I was/am so proud of Gavin, he had to overcome a lot of trials and struggles to reach the point he has reached.
Among the highlights was "Pomp and Circumstance" played by a jazz band and the grad's being led to the Thesis Show by a helluvagood, illegal Marching Band.

Gavin and Celadon. We couldn't get the sunglasses off even for pics (harumph)

He actually has a couple more credits to pick up. But they invited him to walk anyway.

It meant a lot to us that [livejournal.com profile] daedin came :-)

Now For the Paintings

This Painting is from his Thesis Show and is probably my favorite out of those he exhibited. The energy and the background. (He and I use to have disagreements about the importance of background).

Another Thesis Show Picture. My photography isn't that great, but you already knew that ;-)

I don't have the titles of his paintings, except one which he decided he was going to re-title anyway.

OMG those are amazing. I love it.

I absolutely loved the bowl he did and now I can see that was just a tiny glimpse at his style and abilities. Wowsers!

Yes, thank you. :-)
He was able to draw better than I could by his 7th grade year, and I do "OK" when it comes to drawing.

Amazing!

What's his media?

I'm sad I couldn't go, but I'm glad the family was there, representin'!

Oil Paint. They have a wonderful new oil paint now that cleans up with water. None of that cleaning forever with turpentine.

He is really able to express himself in his paintings. And....it's a good thing he can in more ways than one.

This is the first time I've seen Celadon or Gaven, and just have to admire them. You have handsome and beautiful and very, very talented kids. Good stock, eh?

Did you get a shot of the three of you together?

Thanks, they are pretty good looking kids, I think they get it from my Dad. But more importantly they (including the big brother here) are talented and inspired enough to work very hard.
Daedin may have taken one of the 3 of us.
