This weekend at KA&S I drove in unknown territory after Friday night at KA&S and did not get lost. Why, you may ask? What is this reason for this break with tradition? My friends it is because of
The Nebra Sky Disc Bag
This thing of beauty was felted and has the Sky Disc on one side In case I need to know where I am:

This side with the Moons is in case I need to know "when I am"; and the triskales in case I need to know "who I am".

Gifted to me and created by the generous generous[livejournal.com profile] sammurphy
I am speechless with gratitude.

And the arts kept coming! [livejournal.com profile] 366999 made me a set of Viking War Bobbins:

I plan to use these for my friends and me, but I am also considering taking them to school so some of my safer classes can try them out too.

Then the pretty and dear [livejournal.com profile] a_pink_monkey found a set of bellows for me. I've been wishing for bellows for quite awhile to assist when I'm cooking over coals. I also got to try on a warm wool tunic she is making, she is still working on it but she only got it back because it was so warm in the building.

Thank you everyone.

Say, do you know another (or the real) name for the bobbins. Knowing my students "War Bobbins" isn't the influence they need ;-)

The braid is called Viking whipcord, so I call them whipcord bobbins.
