Handsome Eldest Son is home at least for awhile. Wish I didn't have to work next week so I could enjoy his company more, but there you go.
Updates Include:
Put three pieces of art in a local show. It's going to be a show that will be held in 5 galleries between Pullman and Moscow in conjunction with a conference in Pullman. I entered two ceramic pieces and a (surprise!) Altered Book. It is the mark of a mature artist to have work in series, or to have everything displayed be related. Thus my immaturity raises it's head yet again.
Behind the cut are some shots of the book.

I don't have pics of the ceramic pieces, because one I've put on lj previously, the other has proven itself impossible to photograph because of the difference in color and texture.

This is all from one book. Altered Books are also a challenge to photograph.

Title is "Sallam Alaikum" (Peace be Unto You)

Yes, this is the piece I was struggling with last week.

I am happy with it now, although there are many improvements and adjustments I will do next time.

There is also a lot of found poetry in the book.

Mmmm. That's lovely, honey. Is the pink existing highlighting on the text or did you add that? Loves to HES. I know you two will have a grand visit!

Thanks, it's so good to have him even for a short while.
The pink I added, it's runny ink.
We're getting closer to KA&S yay!

Thanks very much,
there is an awfully lot of possibilities with Altered Books.

Love the book! Obviously you just need to do a series of books too to address that artistic maturity issue. ;-)

Thanks.
I do want to do more books of this kind. I am going to hit several used book stores when I am not so crazy-busy.
