There was a wide variety of book styles here, including some used in contemporary Book Arts. I've added some simple book making to my classroom lesson plans just after one session.

The top book is one Jim is making. The lower book is one of the three 16th Century book he had there for us to see close up & personal. The lower one is stitched chevron style, which was done as early as Charlemagne's time.

Interior of a book he is re-binding.

Exterior of the same book, what a mess! But it will be beautiful by the time he finishes it.

Two more of Jim's luscious Gothic style books. The basket in the background is made of bookmaking leftovers by Jim's wife, Melody. They recycle so many things.
