Everyone has things they post about. Everyone has things they don't post about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't mention often, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post.
I just kind of fell into it rather than a conscious decision. I don't have a Special Ed certification, I have k-12 Art and k-8 classroom. Although quite a few classes, workshops, & trainings in it.
Years ago when I began substitute teaching I was willing to substitute in rooms no one else would. Then it seemed like every job I got was dealing with Special Needs populations. Special Ed chose me rather than me choosing it I guess.
Ummm tough question. Not to answer, but to admit. No I don't dance anymore. A number of years ago there was an occurance so negative (I've told you what it was) that I haven't been able to rediscover that paticular place of joy in myself where my dancing came from.
thats so sad! can you at least dance in your own home? putting on music and shaking your groove thing is good for the soul even if there's no one else to see it. You know Amby would applaud if doggies could :)
I've been know to (attempt to) shake a rug while cooking :). you know you can charleston while whipping egg whites?
I always did my best, most magnificent dancing at home alone. ;-D
It's difficult to explain, I love the music and can do individual movements fine, I just can't get all the way through a dance and what I can do has no 'spark'.
I dont know about you, but when i dance about crazy like, its for myself so at home alone is the best place. no audience so you are truely dancing for yourself and not beign tainted by what you THINK others are seeing :)
sometimes the joy is in the act of simply moving to music. it doesnt have to be choreographed or planned. you move around till you're done. tada! (or in my case, until you trip over the cat ;))
and I also find that if I dont do it for a long time, it takes a bit to find the groove again. maybe you just need to find your groove? :)

And what about a photo of you as your SCA self for your website?
