Meme from Pandorasbox

Go to Google images or wherever you go, and find a pic that most expresses, to you, what you think you'll be like when you're very old. Or maybe what you'd LIKE to be like. Post it in your journal, with or without explanation: your choice.

(Love this meme, I spend some time thinking about aging and the way I want to go about doing it.)

Beatrice Wood, Master Potter, at age 103
She attributed her longevity to "Chocolates and Young Men"

Interstring..Mercy really likes her work too..I myself am not really a fan. But thats okay, each to their own.
I hav ebene thinkin gabou tit...and I am not sure who or what I would want to be. I guess I am content with where and what I am. Yes, I want ot se emore development in my work, more master that I havnt acchieved yet. I suppose if I HAD to chose any one, it woudl be Soji Hamada. But only as a possible developemtn model, alin gthose lines, with and emphasis on what ever makes up the self.

My take on this meme is not that I want to imitate her style of work or accomplishments (like I could even if I wanted...ha!). But rather her attitude of how she lived as an Old Lady and her approach towards aging.

Look at her eyes, she is through playing the games so many of us still play. Some old people, but decidedly not all, but just sometimes the elderly become who we really are.

That is a beautiful picture.

Yes, very beautiful.
I admit to hero worship.

If I look that good at 103 I'll be happy. I'm all for trying chocolate and young men as an anti-aging serum. :D

BTW, check out my pics of Dublin. There are some pics of very old ceramic tiles and some weird pilgrim bird people on them (today's entry).

"If I look that good at 103 I'll be happy."

She was intelligent and witty until she died. As well as continuting with her pottery. I've seen photos of her in her 100s, in a sari throwing a bowl that probably had a 6 cup capacity!

You must have had a wonderful trip, I especially liked the tiled pub, and I think the Pilgrims were foxes, maybe???
The tiles were so bright and colorful, had they been replaced since the 1200?
